In the midst of a season of anxiety, I have been reminded that Jesus wants me to experience His joy. Through people and scripture, Jesus reminds me of this and I need these reminders constantly. Romans 5: 3 -5 says, "we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." It's not just in the big, life changing events that we can see Jesus, but also in the small things. Designing necklaces has been one way that Jesus has brought joy and light into my life and I want to share it.

Joy is something we have to choose and there are many days when I find this difficult to do, but reminders of His goodness and love make choosing joy a little easier. In John 15, Jesus reminds us of His love so that His joy may be in us and that our joy may be complete. My prayer is for complete joy in Him.

With all that is going on in our world, it is easier to have fear and feel like everything around us is dark. However, this is the complete opposite of what Jesus wants for us. He wants us to experience His comfort and seek the light that He pours out. Again, this is a choice I constantly have to make and it isn't always easy.

The name Joy & Light Design is a daily reminder to me. It's a reminder to choose joy and seek His light. I hope it can serve as a reminder to you, as well. Because His joy and His light is immeasurably more fulfilling than anything of this world.
